Bilal El Had (b. 1991) is a dancer and performance artist from Casablanca, currently based in Brussels. In 2013, he earned a bachelor’s degree in applied physics in Annecy, France, before graduating from P.A.R.T.S. (Performing Arts Research and Training Studios) in 2016. He began his professional career collaborating with choreographer and theatre maker Laurent Chetouane in Berlin and later joined the Rosas company under the artistic direction of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. In 2017, he received the French “Prix de la Critique” for Best Performer. From 2023, he went on to work closely with choreographer Radouan Mriziga (A7LA5 company).
Over the past two years, Bilal has collaborated with various other prominent choreographers and companies across Europe, such as Salva Sanchis, Maud Blandel, Géraldine Chollet, Perrine Valli, Youness Khoukhou, and Guilhem Chatir. These projects have further established his reputation as a versatile and compelling voice in the European dance scene. He is currently developing his own choreographic work, focusing on the relationship between music and dance as a space where traditional forms, cultural memory, and collective imagination intersect and transform.
