The artistic director Björn Schmelzer studied the sketchbook and used it as the basis for creating a programme of 13th century music. The manuscript is one of the most well-known and controversial works of the Middle Ages. Graindelavoix delves into the music of brotherhoods from Northern France but also looks for adventure further afield. This juxtaposition gives rise to a contemporary interpretation of age-old traditions. The Sufi singers and the Graindelavoix singers promise to take the audience with them on a superterrestrial journey.
